What is Dog Connect Program?

Connect is an organisation that helps introduce a wellbeing dog into settings
such as schools, hospitals, aged care and justice communities. We work with
your community to design a long term, sustainable program to integrate your
dog. We aim to achieve as many mental health benefits as possible.
Leo has made an excellent start to his career as a well-being dog in our community.
He has settled in really well to the expectations of being a member of the community and the students have done an outstanding job of remembering, and applying, the rules that go with having Leo at school.
He has been learning about the classrooms and meeting all the teachers and the students in their classroom. It is really important that we go through all of the steps slowly so as to ensure that the students and Leo have a positive experience.
The staff will be planning a timetable for Leo for next term, that will see him further integrated into the wider school community.
