Today saw our lovely little school run an Anzac Day Parade. We were designated three guests by our local RSL sub-branch; Major Peter, along with Ian and Trudy Johnston. The parade was run magnificently by our student leaders (Nevaeh, Jett, Brianna, Emma, Jack and Lucas) and ably backed up on technology by Zack. Not only did the students speak clearly and with pride, it was great to see all of our students support the leaders with their quiet well-mannered behaviour.
The parade followed a well scripted program, set up by our wonderful Ms Vanessa. Although the wind blew like a cyclone through the under covered area, the leaders did not miss a beat, presenting poems, information and the all important formalities of the parade. Not only were the leaders great, they were wonderfully supported by the school choir, who sang beautifully with the help of Mrs Newton.
Both Major Peter and Mr Johnson spoke pleasingly to the students, staff and parents. Not only were they impressed by the overall presentation of the parade, they also spoke glowingly of the way in which all students participated and behaved during the parade. It is such a delight to hear about the positive effect the students and school have on visiting dignitaries. Major Peter, commented after the parade, that he was going to go back to the local sub-branch and speak about our parade and how awesome the students were. Well done everyone!!!
