Tuesday the 25th of April is a day that all Australians should remember and hold close to their heart. It is a day to remember those who have fallen in war or are injured in battle. A day when all Australians should remember the sacrifice of those who went before us, and gave us our freedom. Anzac Day, a day of commemoration.
This year a group of 25 Tamrookum State School students, ably supported by their parents and teachers, marched at the Rathdowney commemorative service and demonstrated to the community how proud they were to be involved in such a special day. Our school captains, Nevaeh and Jett, lead the way, holding a school banner and were proudly supported by the other students.
The school also laid three wreaths at the foot of the flag pole during the ceremony. Emma and Jack; our school leaders, Max and Lachlan from year 3/4 and Dottie and Eddie from Prep (supported by Cruz) did a wonderful job by calmly and confidently presenting our school wreaths. Well-done to all of those involved!
